Comparison Between 2 Journals About Extensive Reading

In the previous time, I have reviewed a journal titled Reading Journal: Its Benefits For Extensive Reading. At this time, I would like to compare 2 journals that I have read. The journals are titled Reading Journal: Its Benefits For Extensive Reading and The Power of Extensive Reading.

Reading Journal: Its Benefits For Extensive Reading that wrote by Jonathan Aliponga in 2013 explain about how reading journal can make the students have many benefits especially for extensive reading. The Power of Extensive Reading that wrote by Willy A. Renandya in 2001 explains the definition of extensive reading, what are the implementations of the extensive reading program.
Both journals have the same subject that is about reading especially extensive reading. Besides both of the journals have the same subject, there are many differences between both.

The first comparison is about methodology. Willy A. Renandya in his journal explained more about how to increase and implement extensive reading based on data adopted from research results and also other people's books. While Jonathan Aliponga in his journal looks for data through his own research conducted on students every week. He took data from student progress in extensive reading in 4 weeks.

Then, Willy A. Renandya's journal explains how to implement extensive reading, such as students read, a large amount of materials, students usually choose what they want to read, reading materials vary in terms of topic and genre, the material students read is within their level of comprehension, students usually take part in post-reading activities, teachers read with their students, thus modeling enthusiasm for reading. While Jonathan Aliponga explained how journal reading can produce extensive reading benefits. He explained how to read differently every week, like the introduction course, more practice on reading journals, do the silent reading, submission of the reading journal. Jonathan believes that by reading journals, students get many benefits, especially for extensive reading.

To conclude, there are indeed differences from the two journals, but the purpose of the two journals is not much different, namely to tell how important extensive reading and benefits can be obtained from extensive reading. That's all of my reviews, hope it can be useful for you.
