Before explain name tradition, let me introduce what Bataknese is. Check it out!  According to Wikipedia, Bataknese is one of the largest ethnic in Indonesia. Ethnic groups that categorized as Batak are Toba, Karo, Pakpak, Simalungun, Angkola, and Mandailing. Bataknese is a tribe that lives in most of North Sumatra.  Every Batak person must have a "clan" (Marga in Indonesian), if they do not have a clan, they are not Bataknese people, hehe. Bataknese people always uphold their clan. Every two Batak people meet, they must ask what their clan is. Why is it like that?
